I will say that most times, they can have cards sent, but we recommend white envelopes just in case. Some RDCs don't care, others do. These may have to be opened in front of RDCs or maybe not, so the cards need to be appropriate. No nudies!
Susan: That happened to my son when there as he was there over the holidays too. But he had no idea who sent the goodie pkg! No name was included and it was sent directly from a vendor in a state other than his home state. So....no extra work for him/them but the RDCs did enjoy eating the goodies! :-)
Your hubby's postcard from France is hysterical! But I'm sure not funny to him at the time and his mom must have felt awful....hmmm....wondering if his commanders kept that card "around" for a while??? :-)
So sad that my son called the home number instead of our cellphones yesterday. We were both at work and our house Voicemail box was full :(. He ended up calling my sister and talking to her for about 10 minutes. I was so jealous and frustrated that I didn't get to hear his voice. But she assured me that he's doing well, sounded good and sounded very proud. He was originally appointed Medical Yoeman and is now main Yoeman in his division! He's eating well and assures her that they have more efficient ways to clean the latrines than using toothbrushes :) Hopefully, he'll get to call again soon. I am writing him right away and reminding him to call our cell phones next time!!
Congrats on the phone calls yesterday! Hoping for more today!
Good morning ladies!
Yaynessss!!! Got my call today also. Talked for a good 45 min and then it was "CHOW" time as he said. Said the first week was the worst but now it is much better. Food is good too. Said his division would be doing much better if everyone payed better attention and stopped talking so much. There's always that few that just don't know when to shut up! Sounded very positive and very mature. I feel so much better talking to him, words can't describe the relief I have. Said probably wouldn't be calling for another 2 weeks though :(
Woohoo for all the calls and letters today. It's a good day!
I want all of my southern friends to know that I have you all in my thoughts and prayers. And my hubby is praying for you all even more than me. He and my son are supposed to leave here on Wednesday to come to New Port Richey for a Sword Fishing trip and it is NOT looking too good. I was supposed to come with them but have to sub so I won't be coming. And now, it looks like they may not be coming either. Fingers crossed that it fizzles out and goes away with little to no damage to anyone in it's path.
I am so glad to see some of you getting calls, that is wonderful for you and usually means others calls are not far behind :-) Congrats!!!
