Yeah finally a letter, she said it is GREAT. Passed her swim test but was 30 sec too slow on her run. Lots of the girls in her division will be going to Pensacola for A school. Oh I am soooo relieved. Ship 2 DIVISION 946.

KTK:  Don't be scared!  Are you arriving at night or in the daytime?  We always tell people it is best to try and rent a car if possible, but if not, SARGE's transportation service is wonderful, especially for those traveling alone.

There are three hotels that I recommend....all from good posts on this site from recent groups of ladies who have stayed in them....and one of them we stayed in.  Residence Inn Waukegan was great (ours) -- studios or 2 bdrm 2 bth, full kitchens,  free hot buffet breakfast daily and served earlier on PIR day,  PIR shuttle from the hotel.  Pet friendly too!

The other two are Courtyard Inn and Springhill Suites, both near Sarge's MeetandGreet and the Walmart shopping center.  Residence is just up the road. All are 4-5 miles from RTC.  Be sure to ask for the Navy Grad rate.  If they are sold out of that, you can use AAA if you have that.

We rented our car with Budget which had a special going the weekend we were up there.  Ace is another one we have heard about, and Enterprise.  If you need more info, please friend request/message me and I would be glad to help!  I was up there in early 2010 for my son's PIR but have stayed on these groups since then to help, so have updated info!

But i need some guidance, i am coming alone and i have booked my flight which is going in to the Midway Airport, can someone give me info on hotel and car rental or shuttle info maybe? I hope too that more will be receiving their letters.   I am lucky only because I am a close distance to GL.    Hopefully more letters will be reaching families soon!

Cathy, Thursday seems to be a pretty popular day for letter receiving.  My fingers and toes are crossed that you get one today.
