I received a call from my SR at about 6:30, Ship 13 Division 309. He sounded happy and upbeat. I sure have missed that laugh....... He said so far he has had no problems other than an inspection today which was really bad for the whole division. So he had to do pushups for the first time other than during PT.. Said he passed first PT test and swim test. He is receiving a lot of letters from family and friends. One night he got 18 letters!!!! LOL Sheww I am so glad I got to hear that boys voice. This is one happy and proud momma!!!!! Hang in there your calls are coming!!!!!
My SR is in Ship 12, Div 307 and we received a phone call and letter today. He sounds great and said the first couple of days were really tough and he wanted out of there but says he's doing great now and not having any issues. Had three of his wisdom teeth out last friday and said that went fine and he REALLY ENJOYED the two days in bed. Was very thankful for all the mail he has been getting and his only request was that I send him a calendar printed on paper as he has no way to keep track of the days.
Hope you all hear from your SR's soon.
Just recieved a phone call from my SR! I enjoy reading everyones stories on here! Keeps me going strong (: Hope all is well with everyone and their loved ones.
SeeShell - I agree with LBTRS... I retired from the Navy also and have never heard of someone having 7 teeth pulled at once. I'm sure it was some sort of misunderstanding and at most he is having his wisdom teeth pulled. Especially since you said he regularly goes to the dentist so there shouldn't be any major problems with other teeth. Please try not to worry to much. Also, although no one can take care of your son like you can please know that if there are any complications or problems he will have all the medical care he needs. It's not the same as being home but I'm sure he will be OK. I hope you hear from him soon.
SeeShell...there has to be a miscommunication somewhere. I spent 26 years in the Navy and they don't pull teeth (outside of wisdom teeth) unless there is a major problem which you and your son would have known about by now. I'd bet this is just a Recruit Rumor and he is just having his wisdom teeth out.
Either way, hope a quick recovery for you son.
Oh my, SeeShell! Maybe they were just kidding? 7 teeth? Maybe he has 7 wisdom teeth....he would be a very WISE guy! :-) I can imagine that upset you and I think you did the right thing by going to prayer! Keep us posted on what happens.
Oh my goodness SeeShell Ship 13 Div 312. Bless his heart!! And yours, too! I cannot imagine either why they would pull seven. Call your dentist and ask their opinion.
Just got letter #2. He sounds good. Living in such close quarters is his challenge! I knew it would be!! To get that phone call in the next few days would make my week!
Yeah ordered my 4 ribbons for PIR. They are going to be so pretty. Wish I could talk to him. Been 3 weeks and seens like 3 years. Ordered 4 shirts too so we will be ready.
