The ironing is done....are you ready for this?....in the middle of the night! I believe they have 30 minutes shifts, maybe a little less. Ironing never really caught on with my son....when at his duty base, he paid his roommate to do it for him....sigh.
And, no, each would not have his/her own iron/board, I'm pretty sure. Probably a common area where they use them.
I will wait to see the response to your post, LBTRS. I haven't received anything about a date change, and I, too, have already purchased our tickets.
Not to alarm anyone but in the chat room this was posted and then the person wouldn't answer what they are talking about. Anyone have any information on this? I hope nothing changed as I just bought my tickets. :(
"peglo
hAS ANYONE GOT A LETTER THAT THE 9/28 PIR HAS CHANGED"
Random thought that led to a random question...
I was ironing my daughters' clothes (something I usually avoid) when I began to think about all the ironing my son will have done (and will do).
Do the recruits all have their own irons and ironing boards? Do they share with their bunkmate?
Good Morning all! Hope you have a great weekend! Not sure if you will get calls this weekend, but we can only hope, right? It is all up to their RDCs. Phones handy...just in case!
Probably most of of the recruits get their wisdom teeth removed while in bootcamp. They usually get a couple days of SIQ or LLD depending on what they need. My daughter missed a call while she was SIQ and was very upset about it. She wrote 3 pages of her letter about how mad she was lol. But she got to make up the call and I was worned about the letter that was coming :-) They normally pull or fix any teeth that look like they could posibly present a problem in the future. They wouldn't want to be our on a ship aqnd then need dental work.
Good morning everyone :-)
Cathy - I bet he will love hearing the story!
SeeShell - Our SR mentioned in his letter that he was "probably" going to have his teeth pulled Tuesday (three days ago) but have heard nothing since. Do you know for sure yours did and how did you find out?
I hope everyone had a good day, we are heading to Wilmington to move our daughter into college. It will be late tonight when we get there so I will check in with everyone tomorrow. The good news is our Sailor is meeting us there. So we will get to spend the weekend with her as well. She is surprising her sister with a new bike so she won't have to walk to classes :-) Please keep us all in your prayers as we travel. Thanks so much, Lala
