Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

A quick note here: Last Names of Recruits/Sailors are not allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture.

She was in the performing division and had asked me to send these. I sent them in a Priority box and marked the outside of the box with the contents and what it was for. I would ask her in a letter if she wants you to send these things before mailing them.

It must be only we moms who are going through this (or have survived this) who feel the full impact of sending our "babies" off to boot camp. I get the "you've got to be kidding" look when I start to get emotional. They just don't get it. When I've told family and friends about getting "the box", they think it's funny. When I ask people to write, the attitude is "he's only gone a couple of months." That's why we have each other. I appreciate the support and understanding I get here. I truly don't know what I would do without the knowledge that we are an unseen band of mothers lifting our children and each other up in prayer. So...thank you!!!

Seems like I have read something about this..........Thanks . I have been writing lots of letters but very disappointed. I posted on her facebook that I had her address for anyone to write that wanted to, but only one taker so far.
