Your first letters won't start arriving for about three weeks after arrival at BC.
This is because they have to go through P days and then get settled into their Compartment. Also, an MRPO - Mail Recruit Petty Officer must be appointed, trained and pass a test that allows them to handle the mail as it is a Federal entity. This could take a week or so. They usually are not allowed to write that first Sunday after they arrive in their compartment..too busy and their is no Holiday time that first Sunday.
So, normally it is the second Sunday after they arrive in their Compartment that that happens.
Hang in there ladies and gents!
...to all our new members!
in case anyone will arrive early for PIR or will be site seeing on Sat. There are fireworks at the Navy Pier every Wednesday and Saturday night.
Good EARLY Morning everyone. Now that most of you have those form letters with the address be sure you are writing letters as much as you can to your recruit. Every day if possible. You and your recruit will be glad you did. And make sure you keep that form letter in a safe place. You will need the password from it later to print your parking pass for PIR.
Hi all, this is my second time around and I got my letter from my SR today. Guess I need to adjust my name on here ;)
Looking at some of your group discussion it looks like you all are starting to receive the form letters from your SRs. Excellent!!!
That seems to be the first thing that helps you to breathe a little easier. Glad to see them arriving for you. Who all has received them?
Jane, the weather widget is just above the discussion list.
Fireworks on the Weather Widget tonight...should come up when you first open this page...to see them again refresh the page...fun!
43 members in this group already....it's growing!
