Hi everyone.  I am another N4Moms veteran joining to help!  My son went in during 2009.  I have been helping on the PIR groups since then and love it!

LBTRS:  So great to have a retired Senior Chief Petty Officer on here!  I know you can answer lots of questions!  Maybe not about updated bootcamp, but I'm sure in many other areas.  Thanks for joining us!

Good Morning All!  Please ask any and all questions that you may have on here.  Also, don't forget to look through the discussions posted above....lots of info there!

Thanks for the welcome!

A little about myself...I just retired as a Senior Chief Petty Officer after 26 years in the US Navy. The last 15 years were in Recruiting so I'd be happy to answer any recruiting related questions you may have. I'm not much help with the bootcamp stuff as I've been at the command level for many years and don't interact with recruits on a daily basis so my bootcamp information is dated and the reason I'm here to learn from you ladies. :)

My son joined the delayed entry program back in January and shipped last week. He was very excited as he had watched dad play Navy for so long that I think he though it was going to be easy. I could tell he started getting nervous the last two weeks before he left and may have been having second thoughts as we watched him swear in at MEPS on ship day.

Both Mom and I and his 13 year old sister have taken it hard and are missing him a lot. Really looking forward to hearing from him and seeing him at PIR.

I'll try and get Mom on here but she avoids anything with computers when she isn't at work so it won't be easy.

Look forward to sharing our SR's experiences and getting to know you all.

Hello!

FireTeamLeaderWife here!

My Sailor PIR’d on 05/26/2011. He is a Seabee Reservist. I have been an AF Reservist wife for 27 + years…I know …not Navy…but I am familiar with military life! We have been through two Deployments…one right after 9/11 and most recently a year ago…our son enlisted while Hubby was in Iraq. This site was a Godsend and helped me get through not only our sons BC experience but my husbands and my separation for 6 months.

I am a “veteran” mom on the PIR groups mostly. I have been on them now for the last year and we have 7-8 PIR groups running at the same time.

I will check in here to see if I can answer any questions and lend support. There will be a few other veteran moms along to lend a hand and support you all through your PIR experience. Others drop in occasionally too…plus we are always looking for more to “join the ranks”. Things change in the military and we like to give out the most current info that we can so moms that have just gone through this help a lot.

I have a lot of Discussions with information to provide you along the way. I will post as the subjects come up! Please ask any and all questions…there are NO dumb ones Folks!

Welcome! Hang on for the ride!

You are more than welcome LBTRS! We are glad to have you!

Well, I'm a male...you'll have to ask my wife in I'm a gentleman or not. I hope it is ok that I'm not a "mom" but the real mom isn't computer savvy and this seems to be the best place for information about RTC and what is going on.

Please let me know if you have to be a Mom to participate. Otherwise, very nice to meet you all.

Good evening ladies and I do believe we have a gentleman with us too.                                          Baby Monkey Waving

Welcome to you thanks for joining the group. I promise you it will grow.

Please do no hesitate in asking questions, we will try and answer them for you.

There will be a huge amount of information posted for you over the next few weeks. It won't be long and you will know more than your SR does about what's going on at BC.

Hi! My son Titus arrived at GL 8/1. He is in Ship 12 Div 308. I was out of town for a week and arrived home to his Box and the form letter today with his PIR date of 9/28 and his address. We live in WI so we aren't very far. Hooray! Now I can write to him! He is a Navy Reservist, IS, with A and C school to follow in Virginia Beach.
