Marksmom...that alternate route sure saved us when my daughter announced just before turning on 137 that she forgot her wallet at the hotel. It made that so much less of a nightmare.
My sailor arrived at Fort Sam Houston last night!!! He messaged me on facebook when he got computer access and said he would be able to do this everyday!!! Yippee!!! He sent me his address so I can send him his phone first thing this morning!! It wont be as bad now, because we can actually talk to each other!!
Mom Proud of Danny: Yes, that is the first time EVER we have seen them post that no extras will be allowed at PIR. The 10/12 group has 14 divisions, which is alot, but there have been PIR groups with that many in the past and extras were allowed. There are alot of disappointed ladies on that PIR site.... :-(
marksmom: Feel free to join the other PIR groups to share your info. The next one is the PIR 10/12/2012 group. Just go to GROUPS tab at the top of the page and put that in. There are PIRs every Friday until Thanksgiving week (that one is Wed, the 21st) so you can find the groups by those dates.
Thanks for sharing your info!
Said he starts Friday--he said they will put him on watch as well. I know we are 5 hours from the base, but if she needs something (Or you) please ask. We might be able to make it happen!
On another note--how do we tell the upcoming groups how much help it was to go to Sarge's Meet and Greet? The 22nd street shortcut was a pure goldmine!!!!!!!!! Also, so glad our 2 extras got inpo PIR...WOW God is soooo very good.
sailor arrived in Pensacola anyone else? he is so much closer to home! loved PIR and saw the difference. Same funny guy with some grown up qualities Thank you moms, wives, and gfriends for all your support
Wow, did you all see the message from RTC, that no extra guests will be let in for next weeks PIR. They posted this message today:
For those of you attending PIR on Oct. 12, please be advised that 14 divisions will be graduating that day. Each recruit is permitted to place four names on their access list, and we WILL NOT be able to accommodate any additional guests. Current policies regarding children under 12 and retired and active duty military personnel are in effect and these individuals will not count against the access list. THERE WILL BE NO STANDBY AVAILABILITY. As always, thank you for your continued support of the Navy's only boot camp, Recruit Training Command!
I lucked out and our one extra guest was let in at PIR this past Friday.
Would love to have you help out on the PIR groups if you would like to, marmee. Please feel free to drop in whenever you like.
Remember, the ladies in this group are no longer newbies....they are all N4Moms veterans like you are! So you may want to join the groups of the ones still going through bootcamp.
But stay on this group too to keep up with the sailors who were in your sailors group!
diannep - thank you for your response. I would be proud to stay as an alumni if I can be of assistance to the "newbies". I will stay put and give it a try. Plus,, it's another venue to chat about my son and what's up with him. Bring on the questions ladies and gents - I'll do my best to guide you with the knowledge I have gained.
