For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Elaine, Wish I were with you to open a cold one in celebration of a phone call !!! I keep checking my phone to make sure the ringer is on. No phone call today. Maybe they will get to make one sometime this week. Well, it's late and I need to go mark my calendar (Thanks for the idea).

Just checking in before I head for bed. Have been up since about 0530. No call today, this week is HELL week. Am so trying to be patient, want so badly to hear his voice. Will check back in a.m. 'Night all.

I told SF's story earlier but forgot to say he wanted to go military because he wanted to go to college to be a radio broadcaster but the cost was out of reach for him. We paid for Community college as long as the grades stayed up. When his fell due to being too social he quit. After several years of waiting tables he decided it was time to grow up and get serious about school. Once our children left home, quit comm. college they were responsible for their own life choices. He chose to join the Navy then go to college. I am proud of his choice, probably the hardest thing he has ever done.
Thanks for the stories. We have some terrific young pple. Don't we?

yes its the same way with me with my phone when ever it goes off im disapointed when i see who it is..and when do they get their phones and laptops? at pir rght?
