RICKY423 it can vary but it is usually 8:00 AM until 8:00 PM that they have liberty, some will have watch and not have that entire time, this is just the "norm"

I just got a request to post the boot camp videos, but I can't find them! I've sent out an SOS to another PIR group and I'm counting on at least one of those wonderful ladies to come to my rescue so you guys can view them.

Can't remember if I've posted this here yet or not, but this is an awesome video of Battle Stations 21 exercise (BS-21). Everything they are learning in bc prepares them for this final 12 hr exercise which starts at 8pm and ends at 8am. Happens the last 3-7 days of boot camp. They are not a sailor until they pass this test! Turn your sound ON, grab tissue, and watch their ball caps in the beginning, then again at the end. Enjoy!

oh yes, the dreaded IT (Intense Training). Just so you know, they do not punish recruits for receiving too much mail - I believe this was more of a "fun" thing for the RDC to do to Rhonda's recruit, and she's right, it builds charactor (although as a Mom, I think that RDC was wrong).

Teamwork is the name of the game ladies. Your recruits need to receive uplifting, motivational letters to help them realize that although they graduate on their own merits, they will never make it unless they support the guys/gals in their division. Think of it this way: The recruit standing next to your recruit is ultimately responsible for saving the life of your loved one - and visa versa! They are learning how to respond to emergencies - that is what Battlestations 21 exercise is all about! My son says that the shipmates he had in bc will be his shipmates for life. When they write their division number on their lid (sailor hat), that number stays there and defines them. My son noticed that one guy was not doing well on his running time and was not going to pass his final PFA. Brandon did not like this guy, but he didn't want to see anyone fail, so he volunteered to run next to this kid as a pacer - the guy not only passed, but ran it faster than even my son thought he would. They never spoke again, but would give each other this "look" whenever they passed each other at chow. This is teamwork, this is how they make it through boot camp. They don't have to like everyone, but they do love them as shipmates.

JBsMom, just Sunday Div 946 got in trouble on the way to make phone calls home. They had a choice, turn around and not get a call, or do mountain climbers unitl the RDC's were tired and then get their phone calls...they chose mountain climbers. These guys and gals NEED to hear from us to succeed in BC. Send your letters! I bet your future sailor will gladly do pushups/8 counts/ mountain climbers!!

Hi everyone!
JessicaB may not be available today, so I will try my best to fill her shoes. The fastest way to get a question answered is to friend me and then send a message, or leave one in my comment area! I am in ALL the active PIR groups, so it's hard to catch up on all the posts - and I may miss something. There are also lots of seasoned moms from recent PIR groups who have joined us to help "pay it forward" to the new moms. Thank goodness for those moms!

JBsMom, welcome to the group, you may also find your ship and division on PIR 10/1/10 SHIP 13 DIV 326. Come join us there. Including you I think we have 8 moms. My son left on 8/9 and I have only gotten his phone call from BC, his box and the form letter. I send mail every week, one letter, but am going to start sending cards, too. There is an empty spot in the pit of my stomach that won't go away. No news is good news. Also, if you haven't ordered your ribbon, too many sites to keep track of, friend Lala Ribbon Queen. Our group, the 300 divisions are wearing Navy blue with gold lettering.

Rhonda, Thanks I'm sure my son wouldn't mind a few extra push ups.
