N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

I'm going to start posting on here since the 800 div moms are not really responding on the diver moms:( I feel a little isolated since most of your kiddos are in different div, but mine is 820 ship 4... I am STILL waiting for my call, as many of you have received a call! I wish I saw more moms on from my div since its spec ops, which there have been two that I know of.. I was told I should check out the navy divers page, but no one is really Posting:(:( I'm really struggling and hoping to hear some words of encouragement from any mom no matter what their div! It's hard when you keep getting re routed to a page no one is posting on....

Ladies:  Just a caution that we cannot post the last names of the SRs here on this site.  RTC rules.  SO if you did that, please click on the "x" in your post box and delete, or copy/paste without last name and then delete original post.  Thanks!  I see where someone disclosed SR's full name in a post on this page.

LLLamaMama3 - =) that's awesome. My SR said he likes it a lot. He had someone who was behind him that he was talking to while on the phone. I wonder if that was your son? He said it was there second day of pt and his arms killed, he was going to ask to go to medical but was afraid he wouldn't get this phone call so he pushed through it. my SR named off a few of his friends there that he liked. Maybe it will be one of them.. =) it made my day...more like my week. I couldn't have asked for anything better. <3

Stacekzi so whay ship and div is your SR in....we are trying to figure out what divs are sending form letters bc div 387 sr moms hasnt gotten too many
Comment by NausetMom on August 24, 2013 at 7:19pm

Marcelle, I was thinking the same thing, div 387 is ship 12.  Ship 13 is 385 and 386 if you go by what is at the top of this page in the discussion group.  Don't worry Marcelle, we will get ours on Monday.

Comment by Stacekzl on August 24, 2013 at 7:18pm

He left on the 13th and I put wrong DIV. it is 386....I was stressing so many other moms on  the facebook group had received theirs but not I, till today!  Yes we will hope Monday for you!! I have 8 letters to mail..so much happens in 2 weeks...ha! The most my bubby has been away is 4 days...he will turn 20 on the 12th of October..."bubby" is what we call him for his brother (11) and sister (19)

Comment by Marcelle on August 24, 2013 at 7:15pm
Stacekzl: are you sure ship 13 and not ship 12 for div 387...the post on this website said ship12??please let me know I am still waiting for my sons form letter....and the recruiter told me ship12/div387....PIr 10/11
