N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Great news MCEastcoastmom, nice to hear you son is back to his old self

Comment by boocoo on September 11, 2013 at 8:33pm

MCEastcoastmom, my son was really down as well until he went to Church. He has gone the last two Sundays. Thank ya Jesus. And he was telling us he really enjoyed it and they all March to Church together on Sunday morning.

Well the upstairs of my house is clean. That just leaves the kitchen, living room and den downstairs. Whew!!! It's getting there!

Thank you all for your prayers this past week.

CatMom509- My Sr has been down for over a week. On our last call I told him that he should talk to the Chaplain when he feels he needs someone to talk to about his struggles. Well, he listened. I got a call today and he sounded like his old self again. Chaplain told him that he was probably not doing things as bad as he felt he was and gave him some uplifting advice. Now he is more confident again and is volunteering for jobs in the division. All I could say was "wow, I told you God had your back!" What a relief.

Thoughts and prayers for all affected 9/11. Hard to believe it was 12 years ago.

Finally I received a letter from my daughter. She was positive and wrote a list of what to bring for her lol.

You all are very welcome, She is all grown up now and is married and has a little girl of her own :) Hard to believe my Sailor was just 12 years old and my youngest son was only 8. Now they are both all grown up, she is serving our country in the greatest Navy in the world and my son is a first responder on the rescue squad and volunteer fire department. He just got out of Fire Academy boot camp a couple weeks ago :)

Thanks Dianep. It's a big move, but well worth it.

No, we'll never forget 9/11!!!! It would be pretty hard. I had the TV on  at work all day that day!!!

Thank you Lala for sharing that story! It just solidifies the reason for our son's and daughter's career choice, how important their work is and will be, why they are needed, and the potentials they (and we) may face.
On the morning of 9/11, I had just gotten home from work - from my first night back to work after having a miscarriage. I lived in So IL at the time. For whatever reason, I turned on the TV that morning, before going to bed. I watched in shock for a few hours, but had to get to bed, so I could be up to pick up my future SR from school at 3:00. I always slept with the phone, just in case of anything, and that morning was no exception. I received a phone call from my manager about 11:00 AM asking about my availability to go to St. Louis to work, if needed, due to the attacks. (I am a RN) I had no idea what if anything more had transpired in the last hour or so - what was going on in St. Louis??? Thankfully, I wasn't needed in St. Louis. My heart still goes out to those that suffered and died in the attacks on 9/11.

Good Morning!

    "There is no fear in love;

But he who fears has not been

      made perfect in love.

We love Him because He first loved us."
