Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

As soon as we figure out this train station thing we will be going to the Navy Pier today with our sailor. However we are letting him sleep in until 9 today. He was so happy to find out last night that when he is on liberty he can go to sleep and wake up any time he wants .He just has to be in before curfew and be at muster. He was also excited to find out that he can now take showers alone again.! Ha. He made sure to ask them those questions last night. :) My favorite though is all his military talk and how he wanted to be back to check in, 30 minutes before curfew and started getting nervous when it got closer to 20 minutes early. My kid and I always argued about his lack of punctuality and now he is rushing me. Loved every minute of it! I have a whole different man before my eyes, new and improved. Love him!

Great news boocoo!! We have been wondering with fingers crossed and prayers said. I bet they were all beat tired, but pumped full of energy.

The last two divisions did get to do BS last night after all. They also were allowed to march this morning during graduation, due to this was something beyond their control and definitely out of the norm. It was a beautiful ceremony and they did their divisions proud!!!!! I am a proud Mom of a Sailor!!!!

Happy PIR Day!  Hoping that most of you heard from your new sailors...for those who didn't because of the mixup this week, hoping hoping hoping that your sailor's name is on that gate list!  Enjoy!  Hope many of you are already in PIR Hall now!

Felicia:  So very sorry...it is so hard for those with SRs in FIT because they may not know until the last minute....some even head to GL to see their possible sailors, only to be told that they are not sailors yet and they can't see them.  They tell them they will have their sailors call them....that rarely happens.  It is an awful position to be in.  I'm so very sorry....but sure hope that you get an I'm a Sailor call soon from your new sailor....so sorry you all will miss the PIR experience....but becoming a sailor is the important part now....so prayers!  Please keep everyone posted on here.  I know they are praying for your SR.
