N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Emmiesgram, Sarge will pick you up at the Navy Lodge and take you to the gate. Driving is up to you, it is not a difficult drive from the Navy Lodge.

Are you asking about the walk from the gate to the drill hall?

Emmiesgram,

Yep, Sarge picks up at Navy Lodge and drops you off at the gate next to the graduation hall.  The walk from the shuttle drop off gate to the graduation hall entrance is less than 5 minutes.

Raqui'smom:  You can either use the area shuttle (book when you check in at Holiday Inn Express) or...contact Sarge and use his shuttle.  Same price ($3/pp each way).  I would contact both and make sure they use the PIR shuttle service (Sarge doesn't go to all hotels, not sure about the area shuttle service).

Sarge:  847 212 0246 or johnspadaro@att.net

If you decide to drive yourself, be sure to see my "hint" 2 posts below this one on how to avoid the traffic!

We might not be able to come to meet and greet due to our flight schedule too. We will stay in Holiday Inn Express Lybertyville. Any advise ??  how to go to RTC without staying in traffic from there???

Comment by diannep on October 8, 2013 at 11:02am

Emmiesgram>  Since you will miss the MeetandGreet, here is your driving tip from Sarge's:

Stay to the left on Buckley and bypass RTC...turn around near the train station and head back to RTC from that direction.  You will have little to no wait to turn into RTC that way....line of cars will be coming from other direction!

Ladies,

BAMA NAVY MOM started your Gift Basket Raffle for Sarge's Meet & Greet on Thursday, October 24th.  Please go up there to the Discussion Forum to chime in on your possible involvement.  Here's what she posted:

Ok so I have not talked with anyone directly but I believe several other groups are gathering items and each person making their own gift basket (items with a theme, fun one to do would be items from your home state, etc) it would be raffled off at Sarge's Meet and Greet to assist with their costs associated with their selfless acts of kindness to our groups week in and week out.  Anyone with specific info please post here or tell me what I can do to promote such a worth while event.
