Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Does anyone know if we arrive with a rental car to PIR, will a faxed copy of our insurance from insurance company suffice as sufficient proof of coverage?

Hello Friends!

"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.

Therefore, we do not fear, though the earth give way

and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,

though its waters roar and foam and the mountains

      quake with their surging."

Good Morning Everyone!  Safe travel today.  Remember Sarge's MeetandGreet tonight...info is under "events" in the column on the right of this page.

Please be EARLY to PIR tomorrow.  You won't regret it.  We left our hotel on the shuttle at 6:30 and were in PIR Hall shortly after 7.  Would do it the same away again.  There were already alot of people in the hall and we only had 9 divisions, not 11 like you do.

Also, remember Sarge's hint.  Driving to PIR?  Stay to the left on Buckley headed towards RTC (car line will be on your right...those waiting to turn into RTC).  Bypass RTC and turn around in or near the train parking lot, right past RTC.  Head back to RTC from the opposite direction....an easy left turn into RTC from that way!  No wait!  :-)
