N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

ellen0502,

Is your son the one that's half showing in the line??

Comment by ellen0502 on September 29, 2013 at 2:24pm

diannep, Here is another Where's Waldo photo of my son on his ship! LOL He still manages to stay out of the camera mostly. Hahah. I was hoping his ship would post pictures of WOG Day since there couldn't have been that many of them, but to no avail. I guess I will just have to keep looking closely at the pictures from the galley. Where there is food, there is my son I guess. LOL

Good Morning!

$169 for 4 nights is awfully cheap?  Is this a discount travel website that you were using?  Sometimes they are cheaper...but read their cancellation policy in the event your SR is delayed or discharged.  Some of them have some stiff penalties for change/cancellation.  My son was delayed in his training and we had to change flights/hotel reservations....we were thankful we had booked directly with the hotel since there was no penalty.

Thanks but yeah thats how im planing to dress .but yeah I did call direct and its a 100 diferent from internet.i found 169.for 4nights and when I call they all was giving me 278.thats why I could understand why.

jesika:  Did you say the Navy Graduation hotel rates were higher than the regular rates?  That shouldn't be.  Be sure to call the hotels directly to ask for these rates.  I can't imagine they are charging Navy families more than regular rates.  Be sure to check any other hotel discounts you may be entitled to.  We used our AAA rate when up there.

Dress for PIR is dressy casual, suggested.  You can wear whatever you like...but we remind you that your sailors will be in their finest and it is a formal ceremony, so nice casual clothes are recommended.  Good walking shoes as there is a good degree of walking that day...and remember you will be climbing into bleachers.  You will see a little bit of everything as far as dress there.
