~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Good Morning!
Here is the division tshirt info for those interested. These tshirts will have the division flag on them...the one your SRs design themselves:
For T-shirts for a PIR date of 05/17/2013 or after: Your Recruits will have the first opportunity to order apparel imprinted with their unique Divisional Flag design allowing them to capture this valuable memory that will follow them throughout their Navy career. Family and friends can stop by after graduation at building 1326 to purchase additional apparel. The MWR does not accept personal checks as payment; all payments must be made with cash or credit card. Orders may be placed beginning on the Monday following your Sailor's graduation date through the American Outfitters (AO) website www.aomwr.com. AO will digitally print your order and ship it right to your home or your Sailor's “A” School. AO will keep the design on file for one year from the Sailor’s graduation date to fulfill guest orders. If you have any questions or concerns please contact them at retail@mwrgl.com
icarney: Since your SR is staying in GL for A School, you will have Daytime Liberty through the weekend with him! He will move over to A School base (next to RTC) shortly after PIR. He will call you a few hours later for pickup from that base and will have Liberty until later that night---he can return to his base with personal items then (including cell). He must return to base each night, but you should be able to pick him up pretty early each morning (he may have some "watch" times where he will miss a little Liberty). Those staying in GL for A School have extra time with their sailors, which is great!
My son is ship 14 div 400. I am heartbroken that I missed his phone call on Saturday, but I did get his letter yesterday.
I am so sorry I have been MIA, not only am I babysitting my new grand baby but my computer is possessed :( pop-ups have taken over and I get about 10 or 15 min on here and then have to shut it down. Very frustrating, especially when I use it for my business. My SIL is an IT so he is supposed to try and fix it tomorrow. I sure do hope he can. I can't take it any more, ready to throw it out the window of a speeding car lol but I do not want to buy a new one so keep your fingers crossed. An IT for the Navy should be able to make it all better and get rid of the viruses!!! Right? I hope all of you are having a much better week :)
NewbieNavyMom. Your SR will still get his mail, the last four digits are "used" on the base. Check on the RTC website to confirm the +4.
BAMA NAVY MOM: Did she take her cell phone with her? If not, is it possible that she donated the clothes/shoes she arrived in and therefore had no need to send home the box (the SR pays for that)? If she had her cell with her, then I'm sure a box is coming. Sometimes it just takes a while for it to arrive. They usually arrive by FedEx. Hopefully it will arrive soon.
NewbieNavyMom: That happened to me when my son was there....I continued to use the form letter address+last 4 digit zip and he received all of my letters. So I would go by the form letter one (as long as all other info is the same).
RAMA NAVY MOM,
Your SR won't get to keep her phone at her, so you shouldn't renew her minutes. It should be put on Military Suspension instead and then re-activated right before PIR (graduation). But your situation might be a little different because she is not on your plan, so you will need to check into that. Her phone is on its way in the Box.
