N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Good morning.  :)

My son's girlfriend got the call this weekend, but she called me crying because she missed it and he left a message.  I am just glad someone got a call.  The message he left stated he was doing great and that he was allowed to write letters yesterday.  I hope to hear from him.

I could use all the friends I could get...

Ahhh....this is so precious, Lala!  I know you just are dreading babysitting this sweetheart!  Yeah, RIGHT!  Enjoy!

I will take this opportunity, everyone, to tell you what beautiful PIR ribbons Lala makes for you all if you want....please click on her screen name below or photo icon which will take you to her page.  You can see pictures there....and contact her from her page!  The ribbons have received rave reviews, are a very reasonable price (and she gets them to you very quickly), and you will wear them with pride!

Meryl:  So your SR is in 399, and 400 is the brother division so you can get to know the moms on here in both divisions!

Hoping that RTC will get the divisions posted for this group and the one before you all today or tomorrow.  When it happens, either ellen or I will post them at the top of this page.

Hi everyone and good morning. I am having real issues with this website for some reason. I think it is a virus on my computer because when I come here I get bombarded with popups and them my computer freezes. I am traveling today to VA to go babysit for my new grand baby for the week. They are on a waiting list for daycare and she can't start until hopefully next week. It is killing my Sailor to have to leave her already. I can't believe 6 weeks maternity is already up. Luckily I can take my work with me so I am able to help them out so no worries there :) Every city has a post office right? lol And my son-in-law is an IT so he should be able to fix the issues on my computer :) I hope you all have a wonderful day and I hope it is a great week for calls and letters. Here is the reason I am traveling :)

Thanks for that update, Meryl!  What division is your bf in?  Some divisions may be able to write/receive mail before others depending on training of their Recruit Mail Petty Officer. Hoping that mail will be received from all divisions in this group soon!

Thanks, Besties, for you info too.  Glad to see some are already receiving mail.

MissNell:  Great idea to keep him up to date on what is going on via the calendar!  Keeping the SRs laughing and "up" is so important as bootcamp can be pretty demanding!

Good Morning All !

Diannep, my boyfriend has received every letter that his mom and I have written him so far and also said he has written to us every day since he has been there? He also told me that they send mail out on Sunday.

My son is on ship 9 div 405..I received his address Saturday and believe you me, there is a stack of mail going out Monday!!.I've been preparing things since he left...I printed off monthly calendars, the ones that have space to write info. Each day we fill in things that happened at the house or footballs scores or crazy things the yorkie did or the fact his little brother got in trouble...he'll love that info..lol

My daughter is ship 3, div 401. She called yesterday and said she would be sending letters out tomorrow (Sunday). For the first time in a long time I will be looking forward to checking the mail.

My son said the mail started coming on Tuesday. One SR got 17 letters!! My son has not gotten any of ours yet but we did not have his address till Tuesday and mailed letters on the same day.
