~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

HI Everyone!
" To everything there is a season,
a time for every purpose under Heaven..."
Ecclesiastes 3:1
diannep...I called the hotel (Springhill Suites) and asked the desk clerk. $2 or $3 it doesn't matter, I still think it will be easier than driving to PIR. How does the return work if you go to the NEX after PIR?
not much longer!!!! :)
You will enjoy the shuttle....we did that (not Sarge's though...not even sure he was doing it back when we were up for PIR!). It was easy....no issues. Price is right at $3pp each way.
2xMilitaryMom: Are you sure it is $2pp each way on the shuttle? It was $3pp when we were there. Sarge's and the general shuttles are the same price, we have been told.
Some like to drive onto base, others like to park off base at the train station and walk to the RTC gate (about 3/4 mile). Then they can leave the base quickly after PIR and pick up their car...or....take the train into Chicago.
2xMilitaryMom & ALNavyMom-
We are also driving to GL, but have decided to take the shuttle to and from graduation. Just seems like one less thing I have to try to organize.. I'll be in no shape to help figure out where we are supposed to be or how to get there! I figured Sarge knows what he's doing :)
ALNavyMom...we are driving to PIR also but they are taking our hotel shuttle to the hall. I've read the shuttles bypass all the cars in line to get into base. I know our hotel shuttle is $2. per person each way and your sailor can take the shuttle back to your hotel with you. I think there will be less frustration by taking the shuttles.
Lala Ribbon Queen...I saw your post on FB, what a great idea!! Please keep us informed and where we can send gifts.
Good Morning!
I wanted to let you all know that Navy for Mom PIR Friends group on Facebook is working on a Christmas project. We are adopting the children who have parents deployed on the USS Harry S Truman. We are collecting gifts for 300+ children and delivering them to their Christmas Party in mid December. We are hoping to show these kids how grateful we are for what their parents do every day to protect our freedom. Hopefully these gifts and this party will make it a little easier for them even though their mom or dad won't be home for Christmas. If you would like to participate in this wonderful project please join our facebook group for more details. Thanks so much, here is the link https://www.facebook.com/groups/327167160695549/
