N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Good Morning!
GG:  Find Lala under the MEMBERS tab up top---contact her from her page there.  She may be posting here in a minute too.  Red background/blue ribbon photo.   I was having trouble this morning copy/pasting on here or I would have posted her link.  ellen's link didn't come up either, I see.  Hmmm.......

Does anyone know where I can get the ribbons for PIR.
Comment by CatMom509 on October 4, 2013 at 12:14am

Yep,

The baskets would be brought to the Sundance Saloon on 11/14.2013, the night of the Meet & Greet!  Would any of you like to start a Discussion group up above so everyone who wants to participate has a place to get together and plan?

Looks like you gals have 3 baskets right now.  Just need one of you to contact Sarge to let him know your PIR group wants to do this, then keep a count of how many and where the baskets are coming from.  Not sure what else is involved.  Thank you girls!!

When do you want the basket delivered and where? Sundance Saloon?

Comment by 2xMilitaryMom on October 3, 2013 at 7:54pm
I can not at this time take the lead but I think this is a great idea. I would make a basket for NJ.

Hello Friends,

A few of the moms in the PIR 11/01/2013 and PIR 11/08/2013 groups are doing a Gift Basket Raffle to bless Sarge and his wife who do the Meet & Greets every week to help our Navy families.  See below.  If any of you want to take the lead for this PIR group, you can get it started and see who wants to participate.  Call Sarge if there is an interest here:  847-212-0246  This is completly voluntary and an extra activity if you want to do it~~

"Just because the government shut down doesn't mean us Navy Moms Navy Dads, Grandparent's, Girl friends Boy friends, Husbands and Wives.. should do the same. Anyone that would like to put together a basket filled with items from your home state to represent your home state or items you have crafted, baked or borrowed and forgot to return to the neighbor that moved. You can bring it to the Meet and Greet and have it raffled off. With all the proceeds going to Sarge and his wife. They provide and purchase the food, nothing is donated. Sarge will also make a donation to cards for recruits with money raised from the raffle. Pay it forward, Pay it forward.  The basket can represent your home state.  We can have many different baskets with many different things in them. Sports items, Challenge Coins. Blue Candles. The possibilities are endless. Each raffle ticket will be $ 5.00 or 5 for $ 20.00. Really it is what ever you want to bring and there is a dollar store and a Walmart right across the street for people to buy baskets if flying in. You can use gift bags and even buckets."
