While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

WELCOME to PIR 11/16/2012

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the timeto read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Comment by Beccazay on November 2, 2012 at 2:21pm: My daughter just got sent to Ship 14 USS Arizona. She was on ship 9 USS JFK Div 004. In her letter this week she told us what day she would be calling next. I don't know if its her " I'm a sailor call", but considering the date she gave us I'm thinking it will be. Not sure if that is the date for her Divisions BS or if I'm allowed to post the date she gave us to expect her call.

SEA'smom: Thanks for the vote of confidence on the BattleStations dates! HA! I'm hoping that more will get them from their SRs and report to me...lately, that hasn't been happening much in the groups. There are procedures they use for BattleStations, but sometimes they can vary from these. I've been keeping schedules of them since early in 2010 so have some knowledge, but changes can happen. I have the date for 001/002 and hoping to have 005/006's soon from Brittany or Jojo!

Comment by Brittany on November 2, 2012 at 11:07am: Barb- if you go to the Recruit Training command web page - go to Upcoming graduations and then you will see to the side GET GATE PASS ;-) if i am not mistaken they come up 11 days prior to graduation... so by Monday/Tuesday. You have to have the password from the form letter.

DianneP- Prayers are still being uplifted for Brett and his sweet family. God will never put you through anything you cant handle.... God is showing us that He is one amazing guy and I have no doubt that he and his family will get through this season of life and will once again be happy!
