Wow Diannep, that is awesome. My stepdaughters college just had a blood drive. I wish I had known about this we could have had a lot of college kids giving his name :-) I will check around here to see if there are some blood drives going on.
Jojo, you are very welcome :-)
Apparently so!
YAH! Romney is addressing the "small" Navy in the debates right now. HOOYAH! He is telling them that we have to increase our Navy! Yes we do!
ok so without putting any of our SR's names on here ...there are some SR's that my son said he had an espeically close bond to ...and I wanted to reach out to their families to say HHIIIII lol
Well, all I know is last names (which I will not post) and locations from where they are from...inbox me if your SR is from Boston, Brooklyn, Or San Antonio...
talk to you soon...I can 't wait to meet everyone !!
4 MORE FRIDAYS TO GO ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
Diannep - No way ...that's amazing! does that work even if we are not the same blood type?
Jojo: The way it was explained to me is that if you go to this particular blood bank (not sure what name), and you donate in Brett's name, he will get credit on his hospital bill for that, meaning they will remove the $500/per unit charge per unit donated (he had 70 units of blood). At least, that was my understanding...
well just a few notes things for my fellow Navy family...
PAmom – YA …someone close to me … beep- beep if you see me on the road….we will be the ones racing to see my baby (carefully of course..lol) …safe travels to you and your family!
Kelly – Don’t get upset or nervous...my son didn’t pass his running part either by 5 seconds…but he told me NOT to freak out …he gets to retry again…so I’ma try not to panic (even though it’s in my nature lol ) …and pray that he pushes thru the next time basically just told him he's come this far...to have faith and all is IN GODS CONTROL (love that phrase!)
Diannep – many continued prayers for our brave navy man Brett from me for a quick recovery..that picture is beautiful…but quick question... what does that mean …when you said the woman in his hometown gave blood and Brett was “credited for that blood”?
ProudNavyMom – kneemail?? Ur so funny I have to use that one!
Thelostairman – Good thing u kicked that bug…we need you healthy for PIR!! I’m kick starting my immune system with vitamins now especially since the weather is changing so quickly here in NJ … and from what I hear …not so friendly in Chicago lol
Momanddadofmatt4- count the Fridays …it gets easier
Mike'sMom 09-001- THANK YOU for your friend’s advice…I wasn’t aware that we could go to the gate at the airport! Good to know.
Lala Ribbon Queen – that’s soo great ..I’ll be printing this out and mailing it to him…thank you ur the bestest! lol
Hello Navy Family…I’ve been MIA for almost a week…School has kept me super busy…so I’m catching up now. Well, this week I’ve gotten a letter with questionnaires back ..yay.. and then last night I received a quick 2 minute call…at first I thought it was a “privilege call” till he said “I have 2 minutes mom”…then my heart dropped and panic just took over my body…I really thought something happened and it was going to be bad news…then he says “please send my license by Thursday..I need it to get my Military Id “ …what a SIGH of relief!!! He really doesn’t realize I almost had heart failure! Lol
I printed the card to mail to him, thanks for that!
This Adding Guests to another Recruits Access List - Against RTC Policy has been addressed as well on RTC FB and so I made a DISCUSSION for it in FORUMS on the site.
That's a direct link to the post up above.
Ladies, the RTC Public Affairs Office just told several in the PIR 10/26 group that they are no longer allowing extras into PIR. If your name is not on your sailor's guest list, you will not be allowed to enter. This is a new policy...although extras were never guaranteed by RTC to get in (only the 4 names on the list)--they almost always have gotten in during the close to 3 years that I have been on this site. It is very sad since there are so many sailors with no one there anyway....so there are always spaces available. :-(
We are recommending that if you had planned to take extras, bring them and let them spend time with your sailor after PIR.
