For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

WELCOME to PIR 11/16/2012

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the timeto read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

I know you are supposed to get a parking pass in the form letter, well the form letter went to his family and I am not traveling with them , so here is the question, I am staying at the marriott that has a shuttle that will take me to the base friday morning. Do I need that pass to get on the base or will my name be enough since im not driving?

Comment by DebbiL on October 15, 2012 at 4:10pm: Babydoll style t-shirts are cut for women. They curve in at the waist and flare out at the hips. They usually have a scoop neck line, instead of a high crew neck. A more "feminine" style of t-shirt.

Personally - I would need the Babydino cut. Flared everywhere! ha ha!

Just order divison shirts. Does anyone know if they will be sent prior to PIR? Hotel booked, now to find airfare. As mentioned in a previous post, I am traveling solo and have an extra bed in my room at the Navy Lodge with is 1.5 files from the RTC is anyone wants to share expenses. I have it booked for two nights. Let me know. Have a great day!!!! :)
