N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

allboyz:  The PIR group before this one (11/01) just started over with division numbers.  They go for a year (fiscal)...that is why they get so high.  This group will start with 011.  They don't start over with the division numbers in each PIR group.  Just at fiscal yearend.

That's good to know about their training schedule not changing.  We are staying at Courtyard by Marriott 11/21-11/25.  My daughter and I have written a letter everyday. I look forward to his letters to us.

I was just reading up on the number of ships and divisions. There are 14 different SHIPS on RTC. Each one can hold about 12 Divisions. So I guess I am trying to understand why division numbers can go so high if each ship only holds 12.  just thought I would put that out there incase somebody could explain it better to me.

Rescueswimmermom they have not had enough to form that division so they have put them in another division but his Spec Ops mentor verified that today and said they will still so the training schedule they are supposed to do. I was curious too. We are driving as well. Too many family members to fly and I want to have flexibility not knowing when they will fly out. Made reservations at navy lodge 11/21-11/25 just in case. Can cancel each day by 6pm. Just FYI.

I will be praying for you. Yes, we are going to graduation too. We live in Tennessee and will be driving to Great Lakes.  You know, I thought their division was 800, wonder why they are division 011?

rescueswimmermom Yes we are going to graduation. You? We are from Alabama. I am writing him now. Can't wait to get a letter or call. Very concerned about work travel early next week with limited cell service. All you moms - pray about that for me. I need super service! Thanks

My boy in a Box came today.  I sent a note with him and told him of a friend's  son that wrote a note back to his mom and put in the box with his stuff.  This is what I got...I love my SR!!!  He makes me giggle!!

Comment by AOnavymomTN on October 1, 2013 at 9:15pm

by the way, are you going to graduation?

Comment by AOnavymomTN on October 1, 2013 at 9:14pm

I think about him every second of the day.  I can't wait to talk to him, to hear about the first weeks of boot camp. I will post when I get that call.
