N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

I'm great Shesh! Just spent the weekend with my Sailor in SC and was ok with the "see you later".. until he went back to base and text me "thanks for coming to visit me mom, I love you" I cried my eyes out then! My daughter was laughing at me that we will be back down there in a few months, then i was laughing and crying at the same time! That parade sounds awesome shesh! lol I wondered who that was yelling! Someone told me when I first came on here that proud feeling never goes away and wow was she right! Hope everyone and their sailors are doing great!

How are you doing MagoostersMom?  Wish more people kept in contact on this site.  I myself forget to check in.  When I was at the parade yesterday I got teary eyed every time there was something military (which was quite often!)  There was also a group that came up from Great Lakes Training Center to march in the parade.  I cheered so loud I'm sure some of you guys may have heard me.  Lol.

Hope everyone and their sailors are doing great.  I sure miss mine.  Haven't seen him since Christmas.  Saving my pennies to go see him.

Thank you Chrismom! I'm glad your Sailor is doing good and hope you will get to see him soon! Congratulations to him for completing A School! :) Perhaps the boys will all cross paths again in the fleet! I'm sure that would be a welcome surprise for them!

Hi Everyone! I hope you, your families and Sailors are well! I had a great surprise the morning before Mothers day of a knock at the door and open it to my Sailor standing there! Wow! did I hug that boy and cry! He is doing great and is now in PowerSchool! How is everyone else's Sailors doing? Would love to hear! (((((hugs)))))

Shesh, That is awesome! I'm so happy your son is doing great! My son is at School for Nuke MM. They have A School, PowerSchool for 6 mo and then ProtoType for 6mo. He is currently on T-Track (waiting for PowerSchool to start). Waiting now for his leave chit to get approved to come home in between! I can't wait to see him! :)

Barb, Did he get his duty station assigned? I hope the timing works out for you all to see each other!

Congrats to your Sailor majority! It's exciting to hear of their adventures as they move forward!

I hope everyone is doing well! So proud of all of our Sailors! :)

Oh yes we were! It was like a lifeline. Mine just finished A school. He is home for 2 weeks, then onto C school in Jacksonville, and in July will be in Whidbey Island, Washington for his first duty station. I hope you get to see yours in between your move

Doesn't it seem like years ago that we were all buzzing around here daily looking for peace and comfort during a really unsettling time in our lives?  :)

My son finally classed up in March, and looks like he will graduate in May.  We are set to head back to the US in June, and he is requesting Japan as his first 2 choices for duty stations! It's ironic, isn't it?  We are stateside for a year, so if he gets Japan, he should still be here when we get back.

Comment by Shesh on March 30, 2014 at 9:20pm

That's funny, magoostersmom !  My son wouldn't tell me his exact date of graduation either.  He kept saying he wasn't sure, some time in March.  I couldn't afford to go see it so I don't know what he thought I might do !  Lol

What is Power School ?  Sounds interesting.

Comment by MagoostersMom ⚓ on March 30, 2014 at 12:30pm

Hi everyone! Congratulations Shesh!!! :) I'm so glad your son is happy and doing well! My son graduations A School sometime in April! (lol he won't tell me the date!) I told him thats fine, but I'm NOT missing your Power School graduation! lol He is doing great and making a ton of great friends! :)

Congrats to all of our Sailors on their recent and upcoming schooling graduations! I can't wait to hear of their journeys and many accomplishments along the way! (lol following OPSEC rules of course! ;) ) I hope everyone is doing well! (((hugs)))
