Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Hi All,

My son start classes on December 2nd in the Corpsman program, which is crazy because he is scheduled to graduate in just a couple of months!  It is so different than him being at BC, I love being able to talk to him.

I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the next phase of our journey!

I haven't check this page in awhile but get emails when people post here and on the boot camp ones. I kinda giggle when I read some, thinking I was just there! Mine just started school 2 weeks ago 11 to go

I'm not sure about eye care insurance, but I thought they had insurance for everything.

It does seem a long long time ago when we were all on here constantly.  Now it's a ghost site.  I love coming on here and when I see a post it's like hearing from a long lost friend.  Hope to see more updates as our sailors graduate their A schools.  :)

Happy new year, friends!!  What a year it was in 2013!!  What a haven this group has been through all the crazy emotional ups and downs, especially since the end of September!!  Although our kids started together and are all scattered throughout the US, soon to scatter throughout the whole world!  It's amazing what they are training to do and how they all have their gifts and talents which will fit together to make a team!  I hope you all are enjoying more regular contact with your sailors!  We have even been able to talk to our son quite regularly.  Now, his g'parents have gotten his computer to him, so I'm guessing that we won't hear from him for quite a while!! :) God bless you in the coming year as you continue to grow in your career as Navy Moms!!

*My son is still waiting to class up in Pensacola.  One day at a time!!

So good to see some posts on here.  When our sailors were in BC we couldn't get enough of this site.  Now it seems we only come on once in awhile.  I miss all you ladies !  We share such a unique bond.  Some of you I met at the Meet & Greet but most I didn't.  I wish all of you and your sailors great things in the coming year.  Most will graduated their A schools and go on to duty stations.  How exciting !  I hope you Navy moms will pop on here once in awhile to update you & your sailors lives.   Happy New Year and if you're like me & live in Wisconsin.......stay warm !!!  :)
