I was wondering the same thing Kendra. Thanks for the dress tip diannep....I was thinking casual/warm slacks and comfy walking boots. Could be slippery wet/snowy when we are there. Not a time for dresses for sure!

Whatever you wear ladies - make sure you top it off with your RED scarf and "LaLa" ribbon!! :-)

Kendra:  You will see a bit of everything as far as dress at PIR.  But remember, your sailors will be in their Navy finest.  Dressy casual is nice.  But remember...there will be a good amount of walking that day and you will be sitting in bleachers, so keep that in mind and dress for comfort too.  I wore nice black jeans, sweater, jacket, boots (dead of winter when we were there).

LOL!  Oh AZK - I actually laughed out loud at the last post.  Poor ex!  You may want to ask you son to slow down on letter writing to her.  It's easy to romanticize something more when someone is far away.  (That's actually what happend with me and my ex husband.  He started writing while he was at boot camp.  Now that I'm much older it's clear to see he was just trying to connect with the familiar back home - but oh it was so romantic when I was 19!)  Maybe a little less contact from him will help her to open her eyes to what is close by.  And bravo on the heart to heart over Thanksgiving.  Oh the drama! I hope she finds someone special.

Tiffani - hope the fiance's letter gets to her soon!

Kendra - I hope you get your letter today!  I'll be keeping my fingers crossed!!  And I hope that the BF will get kicked to the curb too.  :)

Thank goodness Diana - I'm glad you felt the same as me.  I was so torn - so very happy that he sounded good and then kinda ticked off that he sounded so good.  Would a little "I miss you mom" killed him!  I'm going to put it up to the fact that he didn't want to worry me - so he made his letter very upbeat.  Yeah - I'm sure that's what it is!

I'll have to ask him to elaborate more on what is going on there. If he has a job and if the division is getting in much trouble.  Good Thursday morning everyone!!

LOL AlohagirlinCA, okay, yeah yeah that's the ticket, it's Fed Ex's fault.  I just didn't want her to think that my son didn't write her, tried to tell her the package was so big and he didn't put enough stamps on it.  :-)

@Tiffani...let's NOT blame the post office PLEASE!! I am a postal worker here in San Diego. We bust our bums! Let's blame the pilots for Fed Ex who fly our letters back and forth...yeh I like that idea! Its Fed Ex's fault! ;oD

My husband said he will be carrying the division number up front.  Hope the 801 sticks are not getting in trouble either, lol.

Here's hoping that the EX finds someone to come into her life.

Oh dear just got a FB message from ex asking me whether she can get a division t shirt.  Sweet girl, I feel bad for her.  Everyone think positive thoughts that a new guy will come in to her life!!

Just thought of something...I hope she hasn't found her way on to this site also. Oh dear.....

Tiffani..What's a guidon?  I hope the sticks in 801 aren't getting in trouble. lol

Hoping for lots of letters for all the moms that are waiting!!!!!!

Thanks AZKmom for letting me know what a stick is, my son said that "the sticks" got in trouble and he was really in trouble because he is a guidon, lol.  I would love to hear his voice too, but I'm just so happy to at least get a few questionnaires and letters from him.  My son has a fiance (love her) so there is no drama here at all, which makes it alot easier.  The bummer is my other son, daughter, myself and his friend (who lives with his fiance) got letters but hers didn't come.  Felt bad for her, told her blame it on the post office, it will probably come today.  Happy Thursday everyone, have a wonderful day

I'm positive that my son is happy to be in an all male division and that he doesn't have access to his phone and computer right now so he doesn't have to deal with her constantly texting him and messaging him.  :)
