Laugh.  I pulled the red scarf out of my closet during lunch today.  Laugh- Christina made it for me a few years ago....

Thank you all for the prayers and good thoughts.  His letter was so fun to read and was so "him".  It's starting to "suck less".  "I've seen hell and it is processing days" .  He so wants to just start with the physical stuff.  Also said his division (801) is starting to come together, though main problem is talking when they're not supposed to which, he said, was pretty much all the time.  haha Also said he attended contemporary service at chapel. No communion and said ours was "way better" but that he'll probably keep going.  He was the drummer in our praise band (always barefoot) for our contemporary service.

AZKmom - I' m sorry you have to be worrying about that. Will keep your son in my prayers.
Comment by Diana(PO3/IT3) on October 18, 2011 at 6:39pm

AKZmom: I can't imagine your son being booted from the Navy - maybe not fully qualify for SEAL though. I'd gander a bet he would be reassigned rather than discharged. I don't know for sure but that's my feelings from other things I've heard. Hopefully it's nothing more than just making sure all the right info is in - to ensure his safety as well as right fit. Hang in there. We'll all keep our fingers crossed for 'smooth sailing'......

Cheryl: Where did you get your red scarf?

Comment by Jenn (Proud AO Mom) on October 18, 2011 at 6:20pm
Totally understand your worry.  You would think that everything is lined up but you just never know.  I'll keep sending him and you good thoughts and prayers that this was just a bit of red tape he had to get across.

The call has me worried a bit.  He had a history of asthma as a young child, no episodes since 1st grade.  He had a pulmonary function test in December to get cleared to enlist. Everything was great and doc signed off on it.  Recruiter said that was all they needed.  Well yesterday he called needing phone number and fax number of hospital where test was taken. Apparently they didn't have the paper work and test results. I'm trying not to worry.  He scored nearly perfect on asvab and has passed monthly physical tests since March for his SEAL contract.  I wouldn't think they would boot him out now, but you just never know.

Huge Smile!  I have my red scarf!  Can't wait to see all of you! And I can't wait for a letter from Christina.... Maybe tonight it will be in the mailbox when I get home from work!!!!

I think this is probably one of the only times I would ever wish to be living in Wisconsin or Illinois.  LOL - just kidding!!

YAY AZKmom!!!!  I love that you live close because you can always tell us what's coming.  Did he do ok with his physical?  I hope they are all doing alright!  And OF COURSE get a red scarf!!  We have to represent our N4M group.  All those other moms will be so jealous that we already know each other and we'll tell them you have to join N4M - you meet the best people there! :)  TG 02-04 - we're small but mighty!!

WOW!  Thank you AZKmom, its really good to know that you received your first letter, looking forward to tomorrow or Thursday since I am on the West Coast.  So excited.

Also even though I am not div 007  or div 008 (your divisions seem to be the most active), I will try to get a red scarf as well. And I am definitely ordering ribbons!
