Has been a long time since I've posted here! Going to Pensacola this weekend to see my Megan and meet her new husband! Almost had a fit when she called home one afternoon to say "mom I married a marine today!" So here I go to meet my new son in law!

Hey guys, I know there are a few of you from San Diego, looks like my son and his wife are moving there.  She is trying to find places and since I have not lived in San Diego in years (and years), could you recommend an area.  I know when I lived there I lived in Kearney Mesa and it was fine for my brother and I but I know everything changes.  She is trying to find a place to live.  Thanks for your help.

Hello everyone, it's been so long since I have been on here!  Glad everyone had a fun time with their sailors :-)  My sailor came home (my husband and I knew he was coming home but nobody else did), so he surprised his little brother and the rest of the family.  He is now married (26th of December), they will have their ceremony next summer.  It has been a super busy time for us.  He started school today and should know by Friday where he will be stationed, keeping my fingers crossed for somewhere in Washington, if not there, then San Diego.

Matt ended up staying at my mom's house with me; his dad is remodeling the guest room, so we could have slept in a pile of ripped-up drywall if we had REALLY wanted to! ;)

It's kind of weird to not have anyone sitting on the couch next to me playing games or wandering the internet...but only a month (ish) until BESS graduation! I've never been to CT so it'll be fun. :)

On a super-awesome note, Matt and I are officially engaged now! I'm not in a rush to plan a ceremony/reception...I don't graduate until May and I'm sure Matt will be crazy-busy for a while as well. Just kinda planning on piecing it together little by little. :)

Yea Jo! What a wonderful Christmas blessing that is.... Enjoy!

@Jenn: I had to chuckle about the room thing. I was frantically trying to clear A's old room out for her as it's now the guest room. Within an hour, she had an explosion of her stuff all over - looks like she never left home. lol

We are kicking back for the most part - windy and cold out.

Merry Christmas, again..... hugs to all.

Well, Matt surprised everyone by coming home for Christmas. Yay! :) I was certainly surprised. Ha. Now it's actually more like Christmas, minus the lack of snow in WI. (I'm not complaining, just pointing it out!)

He got here 12/19 and goes back after the new year. So glad to have him home. :)

Merry Christmas my Navy mom friends!!

My son got home this past Tuesday.  He goes back on the 30th.  Right now he is laying low and just hanging out.  It's just him and me tonight so we are going to have dinner wherever he would like and then maybe go take a look at Christmas lights - not sure.  He was a bit ciritical when he got home the first night that his room had been tampered with (I was storing Christmas presents in there).  He's gotten over it but I think he felt a little displaced when he first got home.  (In my defense - I was planning on having it all cleaned out before he came home but he got his flight bumped up so instead of going home after work to clean up his room I went straight to the airport to get him.)

Anyway - for those of you who get your sailors home for the holidays I hope you all have wonderful visits and for those of you who don't I hope you have a merry Christmas and are planning a trip out to see them soon.

Hola Chicas!!  Merry Christmas.... Yes, I have my Sailor girl home. She arrived late last Sunday - returns the day after Christmas. Ask me how much time she's spent at home? Not much. LOL  She's out and about visiting friends. But it's so nice to have her home each night. I've been sleeping like a baby with my brood under my roof.

As for gifts, ssssshhhhhhhh, but I got her a Kindle Touch with a wall adaptor and case and some stocking stuffer treats. Tough to figure what to get as they'll be moving around and I hate to fill her room with stuff she'll have to lug around. She'll be taking her camera and laptop back with her so she's set. With school starting Jan. 3 for her, she'll be quite the busy lil beaver so not much time for else but studying. C School is up in the air as to location. She might go someplace else or stay in FLA.

Jo - happy to hear the wedding plans are coming along. You two are the sweetest couple. I look forward to following your wonderful new lives together :-)

So, ENJOY these precious days everyone. I'll be back on more once she leaves - again. I don't think this time will be as tough - tough still - but it's getting easier especially when we make some semblance of future plans.

Hugs and love,

d~
