I agree, AZKmom!  I was thrilled that my son wrote once a week once he was allowed to write.  I received 4-5 letters, but that was more than I was expecting!

He had told me before he left that he probably would not write because he didn't like writing letters.  My, how he changed his mind once there!  He begged me to write too, and actually wrote 2 page letters!

PS..in my letters today, the BS date given to me for 007 matched the info you shared diannep....THANKS for being so on top of things for us!

OMG! Does the countdown clock really say 5?? Excitement grows in leaps and bounds....

 

Got my last letter from my SR today - an envelope full of letters written over the course of severa days. Very reflective and appreciative of so much...and  VERY excited about PIR and what comes next. She also reiterated, again, wanting just quiet family time for however long we'll have to be together. Still not sure about when she's flying on to her next station - could be on T-day or Dec. 4ish. Egads....  In 4 days, I fly up.....I'll know when I know!

AZK - thanks for the weather updates. I have a much needed new 'fancy-ish' coat (I've been needing one) and still need a few more items but we're pretty much ready to go.

 

FTLW: much appreciate the maps and such. I"ve printed out maps for the airport to GL and GL to other various places to pack with me. It was good to see a general route and get familiar with highway/street names, etc.

 

There are SO many posts to read through! I'm sure I'll have more to comment when I finally get caught up! So happy to hear all the good vibes coming from everyone!

I got a letter from Matt's bunkmate today; no one wrote him any letters this entire time! 

 

Had I known that, I would have written him a bunch of letters. But I did send some (appropriate) funny pictures that he enjoyed. Can't wait to meet him at graduation!
