What a wonderful surprise!  Got to hear my sons voice, first time I have heard it since he left.  He called his fiancee last time.  I'm so so proud of him.  He said they have earned 7 flags, and their division is doing so awesome.  He said he also got sharpshooter (?), don't know what that is but it sounds cool.  Said he cannot send out mail the last 10 days so he will be calling more.  Next week is like another crazy week, firefighting on Monday, gas chamber on Tuesday, more inspections, then Battlestations

007 is calling!!!

Just got off the phone with my SR!  He is doing great!!  That was awesome.  He even decided not to go get candy so he could talk a few extra minutes with me.  awwww - The 22nd can't get here fast enough!

Thanks Diana!!

LaLa - I meant to tell you have fun subbing!  3rd graders are fun - that is said from the perspective a mom who volunteers in class every once in a while - not from a substitute teacher perspective.  Hope they were good to you. :)

@Jenn: hope you get a letter today, too, and your SRs ear is much, much better....

Comment by Diana(PO3/IT3) on November 10, 2011 at 12:58pm

Aw LaLa - you sub? 3rd grade is my favorite age to teach. I have THE most awesome students this year. Hope you had a great experience today :-)

No letter for me yesterday. :(  I'm sure he wrote to his dad instead since he hadn't sent him anything thus far and I did tell him that he should write his dad a letter.  Oh well - I know he's doing fine.  I just wanted to hear how his ear is doing.  But I have been getting letters during the week now, so maybe I'll see something in a couple days.  I'm getting anxious as it gets closer!  I can't believe how close we are!  Oh shoot - I still need to rent a car - off I go!
