Sounds like I'm gonna have to get on Matt to make sure he turns in his stuff for leave. I thought I was supposed to be a future wife, not a mother. :P
I was giving him some crap today about not texting me all day (after he couldn't stop talking about how excited he was to talk to me all the time!!111one), and now I made him feel bad for "ignoring" me. I was just joking that he was having too much fun with his new friends to talk to me. I explained it was a joke and then he called me a meany-pants. LOL.
We're mature. Yeeeppp.
That's great AZK! Yeah once they "phase up" I heard the distance is like 250 miles or something crazy like that, for the Pensacola Sailors New Orleans is still off limit though, lol.
@Jenn, well at least we will be able to keep our kids straight. That would be nice if they had some kind of classes together, his class is only 5 weeks, so figure he will be done at the latest by the 2nd week of February. Hoping he gets stationed in Washington, so we can at least drive to see him and his fiancee's family lives pretty close to the bases in Washington.
@Diana, hopefully she is feeling much better.
I'm am so happy that boot camp is over, so nice texting and/or talking to C again, he is able to lift weights again which he really missed in boot camp
AZK - that is awesome!! I had thought that the 50 miles would have still applied so that is just great! I'm sure his girlfriend was thrilled to have him for a couple of days. Has he cut the ties to the hanger-on ex girlfriend? Or did she finally get a clue?
Oops....meant "RTC" not "RDC" liberty.
We gave Thor to his girlfriend Friday and Saturday but got to have him again yesterday as he is still at GL. He now has his tv and Xbox with him and grabbed some of his favorite books. After reading the liberty policy, we thought he had the 50 mile qualifier but realized that meant while he was still on RDC liberty. Since he checked in to his next duty station right after grad, he was allowed more than 50 miles. So we may go to a college wrestling tournament next weekend in Milwaukee to see his old teammates and coach for a little while if he's available. It is nice to be able to text again :)
Diana - is she feeling better? I hope so! I spoke to B today and he said he was very busy - not sure with what, but he was rushing. He enjoyed the low key weekend - but I do think he just wasn't quite sure what to do with himself and was worried that he wasn't somewhere he should be or he was somewhere he shouldn't be. 8 weeks of being told what to do all the time takes a toll.
I'm ordering a DVD as well and another set of 5x7's - my favorite size for me and to give to the family and you just don't get enough in my opinion. :)
I know what you mean about being at loose ends - I feel the same.
Happy to hear leave is being granted for the holidays. I know A's A School doesn't start until January so I am hopeful - not holding my breath, just hopeful. Should hear something today....
I came home to pictures but no cruise book or DVD. I will order those on my own I suppose as a division shirt as well......
First day back to the routine. I don't know what to do with myself since the bootcamp craze is over....lol ! A didn't mention being bored at all. She used her down time to continue healing from that gnarly tonsillitis and then explore her new station.
LOL - between you, Dianna and me we have an A, B and C!
His rating is AO - Aviation Ordinance. I'm trying to learn more about it than just "he puts the ordinace on the jets." Glad to think that C thinks the same about school starting later. I wonder if they will be in the same type of school since they are both "Aviation"
Yay Jenn! Happy for you. C is turning in his leave form today, so we will know soon when he will get time off. He got his pictures but not the cruise book, I actually brought the pictures home with me.
C also said that he doesn't think his class will start until the first of the year but he said he also will know by next week, he is going to study real hard because if he makes the top grade on the first test then he gets first choice at what station he wants. What is B's rating?
ok - I do have to say YAY - B was approved for leave for part of the holidays. I'm honestly not gloating - I'm just happy! I'm thinking he was approved so quickly because his school may not be starting up for a bit - but not sure. He's vague on when he is starting. He did say he will be there for longer than he had thought.
So I actually really had a question for those of you who got photos either in the mail or picked them up at PIR - my Sailor had his sent home. He had thought his package included a cruise book, but I see by the order form that it did not and he needed to order it separately. Was anyone else supposed to get one and didn't? I'm going to call the photo place tomorrow and see if there is a chance to get one. I thought I had read somewhere that you can sometimes get them for a short time after PIR - so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
I'm also keeping my fingers crossed for all of you to get leave time with your sailors!
