For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

WELCOME TO PIR 11/20/2012

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the timeto read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

19-30, 801-802, 903. 15 Divisions...and all have PIR on 11/30/2012.

My SR said he hopes that by the time I got his letter (today) that he would have had his phone call. Which didn't happen, but it means he's thinking it will be this week! He said the chief is always pissed at them though because div 021 messes up a lot. So hopefully when they do get a call it isn't 5 seconds long.

Comment by Eryn on October 24, 2012 at 10:05pm: Thanks for the info on the hard card. He said it was for not shaving properly, but he passed the first PFA, and personal inspection, and swim test. Thinks he may have failed the rack making inspection though. Lol. I always made the bed...

Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on October 24, 2012 at 9:39pm: It would most likely be offered to all the recruits in this PIR group but it may only be offered to those who live within a certain radius of the base. They would not expect most families to be able to afford to make this trip twice in one week. They may ask the recruits if they think their family would be able to come. I expect you all to hear a lot more about this during this next week.

Apologies to any who haven't received letters yet but I'm just so happy! No word about Thanksgiving, I will ask him about that in my letter tomorrow.
