WELCOME TO PIR 11/20/2012

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Thank you TammySue!

Usually the two senior TG's participate, but again we will have to see from RTC. This is such a large PIR that it is almost two TG's within itself!

15 X 88 (the average amount of SR's in a Div) = 1360 Recruits!

diannep is correctamundo!

They have posted info Adopt-A-Sailor for TSC GL but not anything for RTC yet.

Yes, I believe it is actually 50 miles.

Comment by Dena on October 22, 2012 at 6:53pm
Is there a rule on how far away they can travel? I have family about 50/60 miles from there.

That is awesome TammySue do you live close to Great Lakes?

Was it called Adopt-A-Sailor?

Wasn't sure if they were going to do it this year. That's great! Wonderful that you can pick him up yourself.

Last year for those that could not, families and orginizations take those recruits for the day, no recruit left behind!

This Adding Guests to another Recruits Access List - Against RTC Policy has been addressed as well on RTC FB and so I made a DISCUSSION for it in FORUMS on the site.

That's a direct link to the post up above.

...also, your SRs will have a chance to update their guest lists shortly before PIR.

Comment by diannep on October 22, 2012 at 6:23pm

Ladies, some of the ladies in the PIR 10/26 group called the Public Affairs Office today and found out that extras are no longer allowed into PIR.  If your name is not on your SR's guest list (4 names), you will not be allowed in.  This is a change in policy.  Although RTC has always guaranteed that the 4 on the list get in, and couldn't guarantee the extras, they would tell them to come and they would do their best to get them in...and most times, did.  But no more.  We are assuming that retired military (with proper ID) can still get in and not have to be on the guest list, but if this applies to any of you, please call the PAO to verify:

847-688-2405

We still suggest that your extras come to spend time with your sailors after PIR.

For all of you who will be meeting your Sailors at the Airport I just posted a Fight Info Card in the discussions above. You can print it out and ask your recruit to keep it and fill it out when they get their flight info. Then after PIR when they go back to their ship before leaving with you they can grab it and give it to you. That way you have all the correct info for meeting them at the airport. You don't want to end up at the wrong one because they couldn't remember.
