For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

WELCOME TO PIR 11/20/2012

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the timeto read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Comment by Bears Nana on October 22, 2012 at 2:28pm: OMG I just got a call from SR. He needed medical info. I had to look twice at the 847 area code. They let him talk for a couple minutes. He confirmed they were given the wrong address of ship02 and that it should be ship 04 DIV 802. He says his division is having a rough time as some of them are getting in trouble a lot and the whole division is paying for it. They missed making phone calls yesterday because of it. I AM SOOOO EXCITED TO HEAR HIS VOICE. They are getting our letters.

Someone mentioned something about fart facts so I typed in "fart facts" and came up with: http://www.thefartfacts.com/ lol So bizarre, but totally fitting for men and their sense of humor.

I have written a letter a day since he left, so about 19 or so. I needed to spice it up, because I'm sure the letters just telling him about my day and how much I miss him, can only be so amusing. I am pretty sure his dad and aunts are writing him too, though I'm not positive, and I'm sure they'll only send a letter or so a week. He will get bombarded with letters though! I did warn him before he left.... :)
