OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Yvonne:  In addition to sierra's info to you about ordering the PIR DVD, here is the phone number of the Photo Lab in case you want to call them to see if you can order it early.

Michelle:  The mail is held for about 2 weeks from them while the Recruit Mail Petty Officer is trained...so hopefully letters will be arriving this week from your SRs!

Lala:  Well, I spoke too soon.  They are going into his right calf today (which actually is already open....both sides...to relieve swelling) to clean out dead tissue and look around to see what is going on...still some issues there.  So somewhat minor surgery today...Thanks so much, everyone, for the wonderful prayers!

Great post, Military Mom, and great reminder to all!

Yes, he should be able to, Jennifer.  Will he be staying in GL for A School?  I'm assuming so since you are talking about liberty through the weekend (daytime).  If he is flying out, it probably will be on Sat. sometime so no liberty past PIR day (airport visits allowed however).

Comment by Jennifer on October 21, 2012 at 12:39pm

Just thought of a question. I know that in A school until they phase up to Phase 3, they have to be signed out by a spouse, or have a buddy. But what about after PIR? How does that work? Do they have to be signed out? If so does it have to be by a specific person? (Family, Spouse?) My bf's dad and step-mom are going, but they are only staying until Saturday afternoon, and letting us have time together the rest of Saturday and Sunday, so will he be able to come with me Sunday?? Thanks =)

Dianne thanks for sharing the handsome pic of Brett and his baby. May he soon be holding his precious family again! The Prayer Warriors along with out Church are praying for his recovery today at Mass.may his Mother find strength and comfort to negate those unnerving feeling of dread and fill her heart with hope. We are praying and will continue our all night vigils until this young hero is well!

Off to service so I'll check in after my prayer time is done. Have a wonderful day!

Thanks Craig, you are too funny and I don't doubt for a second that you would nag me to bits lol.

Bugs, that is great info and now that expression makes total sense, thanks for sharing :-)

Wow, that pic of Brett and his baby is awesome. I still have him in my thoughts and prayers. So glad he doesn't have any more surgery to deal with and can get on to the healing process.

Still thinking about Brett. What a great photo! I just love the babies blue camo, adorable! Praying that Brett can wake up for his family and friends, what a moment that will be!
