OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

I understand the multi military family.  My father was in the Navy, of course my son is at RTC and my husband and I both were in the Army.  Lots of bashing around here especially during the Army/Navy football game!

I am a multi-military family, too! Hubby was Air Force, first son to enlist went Marines and now I have a Sailor-in-Training. Have to speak very carefully about the various services around here!

Hahaha ..Dianne that's too funny! Makes for great conversations at Thanksgiving tho!

My hubby is Marine Corps so we consider you all sorta like the military...LOL
You ALL are "traitorous" Hahaha...all kidding aside, We all are family and support one another and our service men and women here and abroad! OOHRAH...had to throw that in there! Hee hee hee..

Excellent recap, Jennifer!  That is exactly right on the liberty after PIR.

What Craig did not disclose below...is that he has a "traitor" in his family.  Yep, tha'ts right!  His daughter went....get ready for this....AIR FORCE!  How could that happen?  :-)  I think he still loves her though....  :-)  And FTLW has an AF hubby....we love all of our military service personnel...every single one of them!

countrymom - The commissary is not on RTC.  Here is the map of where it is:

http://www.commissaries.com/stores/html/store.cfm?dodaac=HQCCAG

Rosie - My sailor actually graduated 5 years ago, but I have a nephew that just went through last year.  I actually run a website for deppers call NavyDEP.com.  You've probably been to my website looking at what the recruits do day-per-day.

http://www.navydep.com/forums/showthread.php?t=433

I also help out here at N4M with different questions.  I am an expert in the Cryptologic field, so if any moms here have CT rating question, I will know them.

Beechtym, it depends, is your SR staying in GL, or heading to a different A school? If they're staying in GL, they usually move their things after PIR and then get liberty until the evening, and also day time liberty Sat/Sun. If they are heading to a different A school, then they will get liberty after PIR and possibly leave out Saturday which you can go to the airport with and spend time with them before they fly out.

This is what I've gathered from everyone on here, hope it helps!

Does anyone know when we find out how much leave they get after pir....6 hrs or 2 days?

Thanks, Betsy.  Have fun today!

I don't think so, countrymom.  They are on the bases, but don't think so on the training base.  Craig would know this.  He has a diagram somewhere on this site of RTC.

Anybody know if there is a Commisary at RTC?
