OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Hunters mom dress blues are the winter uniform and dress whites are the summer uniform

I was looking on the RTCs Facebook page and noticed different PIR groups in the blue uniform and others in white. Is there a difference or do they just switch it up?

They are near Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. My son leaves for boot camp on 3Jan.

TMM: prepare to drive in snow. November 30th is definitely a snowy time! I am from Ohio so I am used to it. They do clear the main roads pretty quickly but plan for traffic as well due to the weather. Last winter we didnt have a very bad one, but who knows what this winter will bring! :)

Many more prayers for Brett, thanks for keeping us posted Diannep. It is so sad what he and his family are going through.

TMM, I would be prepared for driving in snow. You probably won't have to but you just never know up there. The good thing is they get the main roads cleared pretty quickly because they are used to it.

Dena, what part of NC? I am in the mountain region not too far from Asheville :-)

Welcome 1Sailor/1Marine!

Thanks, FTLW!  Brett had his kidney removed tonight...still in surgery...so in 3 surgeries over the past 2 days, he has lost most of his colon, his kidney, and there is a possibility that his right leg is compromised...and they aren't finished looking yet for more damage....continued prayers please.

My husband and son, in North Carolina, got a letter from my daughter (Ship 03 Div 19) I hope I get mine tomorrow, in Florida!

Ok, I have a question. We will be driving to the Nov. 30th PIR. I was wondering how the weather usually is in Great Lakes and the surrounding areas at that time of the year? We live in the south and don't get snow. Should we be prepared to drive in snow?

Hi, everyone! Happy to be onboard! This is my second time at the rodeo - another son joined the Marines last year - so I know.how helpful and supportive these forums can be. My future Sailor is Ship 12, Div 023. Bound for SC and nuke school after that. I look forward to communicating with everyone as meeting many of you come 30-Nov! / Kelly
