For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

WELCOME TO PIR 11/20/2012

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the timeto read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Shifts to continue our nonstop prayers for Brett. It is nice to put a face /faces to the names and helps us all feel that much closer to them. So glad this family is strong and that Brett is such a fighter.

Our prayer warriors also hear that all the SR's and parents that are struggling need support and prayers so we will add your petitions in as well! Faith has helped me get thru a life in the military and will continue to bless me and my friends/family including this military family that WE ALL SHARE! hang in there family together WE'VE GOT THIS! (AND OUR SR's AS WELL!)

By the way, the Navy showed up in force yesterday at the hospital...from the top commander down...in uniform. What a strong presence they made to support their fallen hero and his family....the family was so very grateful! Gotta love the Navy Family!

Please pray for Brett's 3rd surgery this morning...3rd in just 36 hours...but he is amazing his doctors and hanging in there! Still critical but fighting with every ounce of his being! The prayers are such a godsend! Thanks so much!

Prayers are definitely with his family as he obviously has the iron clad will to survive. I am certain all the love and faith that is being spread is comforting for his family. Comment by diannep on October 18, 2012 at 10:02pm: Thanks again, ladies, for the prayers.....Brett is holding his own. An article came out today with a picture of the guy who did this. 22 yrs old. Was following another man in an apt parking lot...Brett heard the victim yelling for help...Brett was just a bystander...ran to help the victim pursue the robber and the article said was shot twice.

The neat thing was: A lady nearby immediately ran over to Brett and prayed over him....how wonderful! He has been covered in prayer since then.

He is a true hero, no doubt about it. He just went on instinct....can't wait to share with his mom (my good friend) about how wonderful all on these PIR groups have been about praying for him. Thanks so much! The prayers are working!
