OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Kristen:  Most likely, he will fly out the day after PIR.  My son also went to MS for his A School.  You will have PIR Day with him and then can meet him at the airport early the next morning to wait with him.  You can even get an airlines gate pass and wait there with him until the plane leaves.

BmommaBol/Brittany/Mauz:  So very sad for the little ones missing a parent and not understanding why they can't see him/her or talk to him/her when in bootcamp.  Hoping that you get a good night of sleep tonight with your children sleeping well too!  Wait until they see their daddies in that sharp Navy uniform!

I've been the same for my 3 year old daughter. She's been a daddy's girl and she's been sad since her dad left. Until now she looks out the window and hoping her daddy to come home. Hope these few weeks coming up, flys by quickly.

I have been in the same boat. I have a one year old an three year old. How ever my one year old doesn't seem to think anything of it she says dada a lot but goes about her day, however my three year old ask where daddy every day and last night n tonight first night she slept in her bed alone at a normal time. It will get better

Been a rough day. My one year old son is acting up real bad and acting like he thinks I am going to leave him all the time so he is attached at my hip. He wouldnt go to sleep the past 2 nights unless i held him and rocked him...which still took about 45 mins. I think the 2 weeks was enough for him to realize daddy is gone and we havent heard from him. It breaks my heart to hear him calling for daddy and crying for him. :( Heres to hoping these next 6.5 weeks FLY BY!!!

Hi all, I had post my son was SHIP-04 DIV-021. Well he is SHIP-03 DIV-021. He put 04 in his return address on the form letter envelope, then put 03 in the form letter. SHIP-03 is correct. So do any of you have SR's on SHIP-03 DIV-021?

meam, this is the right group for you. Welcome to the group :-)

ChiefDad, this could be the right group for you. We have heard it is going to be a large group. If not hang out here until you know for sure and even afterwards you are welcome to be in both groups :-)

Bears Nana, a meet and greet is a little like a party for families who all have Sailors graduating. It is especially good to meet the friends you have made on this website after talking to them for 8 weeks :-) The one that Sarge puts on at the Sundance Saloon is also very informative with lots of info to help you during PIR. They all serve snacks or food for free and you just pay for your drinks. We had a wonderful time at ours and I was very glad I went.

Still no form letter, my son left on 10/3 and made his "I'm ok" call late 10/4.  However I found out from the recruiter that he is Ship 12 Div 030.  Not sure of PIR date, sounds a little late for TG 3.
