For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

WELCOME TO PIR 11/20/2012

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the timeto read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Not that it will do much good.

I am very sorry for all of you. I hope they let these recruits call home and confirm this. I am thinking of the menay that do not do ANY kind of Social Media and will not know.

Facebook friends, an announcement for 30 NOV PIR: There will be FIFTEEN divisions graduating Nov. 30th. Due to the size of the graduation all guests need to be on the access list except children under the age of two. Individuals not on the access list will NOT be able to enter the drill hall (NO stand by). Please plan on arriving at least two hours before the ceremony, which begins promptly at 9 a.m. Thanks to all for your continued support of Recruit Training Command, the Navy's only boot camp!

Now, some others have called from other groups and were told that it begins with this group, but there is lots of lashing out over this. I'm so very sorry this is going on this close to PIR for so many. It's awful....hoping that they will change the policy back to 12 and under not on the list....but who knows? Sigh.....very upsetting....

It would be a real bummer to fly from Calif and then they dont have it.

I knew this MUST be a rumor, so I called. He told me it went into effect last week!!! My 11 yr old has to be on the list! PLEASE someone else call and double check...8476882405...Since he father and his wife are coming, this means my husband will have to miss it to stay at the hotel with my son.....I am just sick
