Amelia, great job on going and visiting your recruit Halee. I bet she was surprised and I would have done the same. What a wonderful experience to actually see she is alright. You take care and our thoughts and prayers are with you and your recruit :)

For a preview of how the NWUs (Navy Working Uniform) looks...here is my son in his, as we left the hotel after my visit to see him earlier this month and he was on his way to work. He said not only do they look good, but they are pretty comfortable too. They wear their black boots with them.

Hi everyone! Update on my Halee--I'm here with her now at the VA Medical Center--came in on the train yesterday morning & headed back home tonight! She is good spirits & was surprised to see me! When I found out I could come visit her--well you're all moms--you understand!

So 8 hours on the train--one way!

If anyone is staying at the Days Inn Great Lakes @ 3000 North US 41--Very Nice & Clean & staff very pleasant! And only 3 1/2 miles from Anastasia's! My daugter wanted steak--"Real Steak" LOL--so I ordered from there and picked it up for her! The french onion soup was excellent! Very Nice place!

So as I won't be with you all next week for Meet & Greet--I'll be there in spirit!

Hitting the shower now, grabbing the breakfast downstairs and then back to the VA center Rehab unit until I have to head in to town to catch my train home.

But I have to say--I saw many new "SAILORS" with their families after their PIR yesterday morning--I was so proud to see them all--but torn because Halee's won't be until some time next year now after all her rehab!

PLEASE Also--Halee received a roommate--she's on 19, She had a fall and dislocated her hip & fractured her femur--had surgery for the femur and is now going to be months before she is fully recovered to step back in to her recruit status. She was at 3 weeks & she's from Alaska...so if anyone see's or hears about her mom on here--put her in touch with me please!

Thanks again for all your prayers! Having seen Halee--I am able to relax more and know she'll make it through this! Won't be so bad for her when she's sent back to RCU!

Lynne---you are lucky person to have so many supporters, like wise your son must be very lucky to have you on his side, because with us at your back how can he possibly fail? Thoughts and prayer really do work And so does steriods and antibitics!! By the time he does battlestations he will be able to do "repel bullets and leap tall buildings in a single bound" you know why....because he young, tough, brave, man he's a UNITED STATES NAVY SAILOR!!!!!! ----
