Sandi: I agree totally with Lynne. We are guessing here. Sounds like your son will examine all of his options, and I bet he will make the right decision!

AndysMom: They pull the wisdom teeth if they project any problems down the road with them...i.e., like problems developing when they are deployed. Sometimes they "watch" them for a while....they may pull them later. Some get them pulled at the end of bc rather in the beginning.....it's the Navy's call !

My son had his wisdom tooth pulled, He was worried about having it done because he had one done before and had a hard time with it. This time he was only in bed for 2 days. The last time he had one pulled he was in bed for a week.

Andysmom, in my son's Sept 27th letter he said he had just had his wisdom teeth pulled. So, that was week 2 I think.

oh I know Lynne, he is smart and I know he will make the right decisions for himself and he is a great son, can't wait to see him at PIR. I just hope he does not have to do grad n go. Has anyone gotten a 2nd phone call yet? I know we haven't, just wondering if anyone else has. It is so great to have you all here.

Gosh Sandi...I think we are all guessing and you may have to simply write to your son...ask him the questions and wait for the answers...I think this is the hard thing about our kids being in the Navy...I have always been the one my son came to, to ask questions to run ideas by, to insure that he knew his options....that isn't a choice he has. I have to trust that he will remember all the things I taught him and think through the options he has, weigh the pros and cons and make the best decision for him. This is part of letting go ( and frankly, I don't like it so much) but it is part of the new reality. So Sandi, I bet you did a great job raising him, that he has more facts than you are aware of, and he will make a good decision. We just have to trust that they do! I know its hard!

I just spoke to one of my customers who had been in the navy air mechanic and he said he should be able to go practical (hands on ) training until room in the class room. Does that sound possible? I just hate for him to make the decision with out all of the facts. I surely do not want him to take a change unless it is going to be more pay of course.
Thanks
