Good morning, Ladies. Joining your group as another "veteran" mom to help Jessica with any questions you all have. Please feel free to ask any questions! No question is too small....we all had them and have them! Jessica and I have sailors now "in the fleet" as of this past summer....so we hopefully can help. I know she has already been a great help to you, as she was to me in bootcamp.

Josie, the number of recruits in a division varies by division. Most start out with around 80-88, but then they lose some, and then gain some back. They lose/gain some back when some are "asmoed" for one reason or another (my son was). That means...setback and removed from their division. It can be for failure academically, physically, medically, or for emotional/situational/disciplinary adjustment issues. Once they leave their division, they are not reunited with that division. They will be removed to the "timeout" ship for whatever reason and then reassigned to a division that is at the same point of training that they left off with (my sailor educated me on this!). He was asmoed for a week, then reassigned to another division. His division ended up with about 15 less recruits than they started with. Just depends. Some divisions are all male, some are male/female (separate sleeping quarters....thank goodness!!!).

Oh, sorry, thanks Mitch! I'm sure he'll be fine, but mom's tend to worry whether or not there is a good reason! lol
