Alice, thanks for the encouragement. At least they still have almost 5 weeks to pass it. I try not to worry about it, but I'm a mom, so what can I say!

sailormom-denna--dont sweat it. if he's just 10-30 sec off, it'll come. he may get some extra attention like i did (see prior post) but it will come. i was a little older and more out of shape than most and what i did was find someone who was getting good times (not the fastest) and stay on his six or puke trying. it will come. dont worry

Anyone know what happens if they don't pass the PT tests. My son is doing fine with push ups and situps, but he's having a little trouble with the mile and half run. He's been 10-30 seconds late each time he's done it. Will this stop him from graduating?

(mitch) back at ya straight out of the dog house. little chilly here in belmont, nc at night-bout 50 deg. lynne i have no shame at all. i'll do anything you ask.

read a lot of comments just now don't remember all the names, but to the young lady who is #5 on the future family totem pole we'll get our son to put you on our list. alice will get with you after she gives me my flea bath.

somebody said their child got five hours sleep in boot camp. FIVE HOURS!!! what are they turning that place into, a resort. i didn't get but 5 a week. the division got up at 4:30 every day except sunday, but i was a fat boy so i had to get up an hour and half before that to go mandatory PT. back in those days normal PT was just on saturday morning.

as far as the mail goes, i work for the post office. our letters may be getting tied up on base. not sure (without looking) if base post office is cancelling letters and holding them till they get a truckload (who knows) i do know that first class letters should be next day within 500 miles or so, 2 to 3 days beyong that. chicago being centrally located the service standard for first class letter should be no more than 2 to 3 anywhere CONUS (thats continental US for you navy rookies) Navy all about acronyms.

if anyone can tell me what CINCUSNAVEUR means i'll give you a cookie at M&G
