Please take time to read Sobe's words about PIR. Remember to be kind to each other and to put your recruit first. You know today when my son called i wanted to hog every minute I had with him. I knew though from his letter he was down. So I made arrangements for his best friend to be at my house and wait with me for the call. I didn't like giving up that time, but I'd do it again because my son was so exited.

While my gesture was simple and easy, some of you may have to make the tougher choices. Some of you are divorced....who will be invited to PIR?? Some of you have recruits with boyfriends, girlfriends, best friends, in-laws, step-parents, and others who want to come.

Who will come first? Each recruit has four guarunteed seats. Who will make that list? Should you lobby for people? Each situation will be different, but put your recruit first. Obviously some people will have it easier than others. For example, my son is an only child and we have no other family and I am bringing his buddy and one of my firiends may be flying in!! Ours is a simple list.

For some this is their oldest child and the family is coming, again pretty simple. But, for some when g/fs and b/fs and hubby's and wives get involved the four people become very much in demand. I challenge each of you to give thought to who should be on the list. If you are the mom think about how you would have felt if your husband had been the recruit..would you have wanted to be invited?? If you are wife, consider that one day you may in all liklihood be the mom, would you want to be left off the list.

You all know that I am a praying person. So I am sure it comes as no surprise that I might have a verse that goes along with my words "The sins of the father are visited upon his children." The choices that we make today we will probably experience at the hands of our children.

Don't put your recruit in the middle by asking them to "choose". Be a big person. Use this time to reunite families not separate them. My son has a half sister and I practiced what I preach when I sent her a note last week and encouraged her to write to her brother. She was surprised to say the least. Take a chance you may build a lifetime of blessings.

He may not be dating the letters because he might not know what day it is. When I talked to my son yesterday he had no idea what day it was.

Got letters today - YAY!. Still no phone calls, but hopefully soon. He says his division is down to 78, some days rougher than others, but he passed test so he is bumped up in pay. He doesn't date any of his letters so it's hard to figure out one from the other, will have to remind him to date them! He wants to change jobs because he is loving Chicago and wants to stay there. We'll see I guess. Love how a letter can make my day!

First call today!! Sounded good but has an ear infection so on light duty for a few days. Mail is about 5 days behind it seems. We are getting them much faster than they are. Reinforced the message they are all sending home... MAIL MAIL MAIL! Keeps them going. Tomorrow is his 20th birthday...feeling very meloncoly...reliving that night like it was yesterday and wondering where the time went...missing my sweet boy so much today but know he is where he wants and is suppose to be...Love you Zaner and see you soon...
