Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I guess I'll have to sit down tomorrow morning and spend some time just reading through what you guys are talking about. I just don't have time to be on this site very much. Hope I'm not missing anything important. I'm writing to our son every day and encouraging family to send postcards. I wish we would get a call. Thanks for all the support here! Blessings, KarlaB

Comment by Heidi (SHIP02,DIV951,PIR11/5) on September 24, 2010 at 9:33pm: I believe they can only write on Sundays & is mailed out on Mondays. I have read that they receive mail daily they hold all of their mail for the first 2 to 3 weeks.

We are the only ones who have posted on the "Division 363 Mustering In" up above. I guess we will have to hold on to the "no news is good news" statement for now. Talk to you tomorrow and I check my mailbox!!!

I did talk to him on his cell when he landed in Chicago, but I never got THE call. I'm still wondering why. I called his recruiter the next day and he said that the personnel there stand right next to them to make sure they contacted someone. Oh well. I'm still waiting patiently for the first letter. How often do they get mail call. I have heard conflicting answers. Anyone know for sure?
