Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I am so happy for you Blyn..... My son is one of the younger ones.. I hope he is not some of the cause... I will keep hoping for a letter....

I got my first letter!!! OMG I could cry and scream all at the time same time. Hubby said that the 19th was the first day they could write...he's doing great but most of the Div is younger and can't get it together...

I am ecstatic!!

For all the new ppl to this page. I am happy to help with any questions you have. Some of the things I have experienced: My sailor/daughter was in the choir, she had wisdom teeth pulled, she was a grad and go to Pensacola, she was on a chartered flight, She is an AO, her PIR was in July, her fiancee is in bootcamp now and has PIR Oct 29th, We drove up from NC, we stayed at The Navy Lodge, we hung out at the Gurnee Mall, and as some of you already know I am known as the ribbon queen because I make ribbons to wear to PIR. If you have any questions at all please feel free to send me a friend request. I am happy to help.

Here is a copy of what I posted about the flags. There are some rules about displaying the flag so when you go to the website be sure to check out all the info.

Has anyone ordered their free Blue Star Flag to hang in your window at home? It is available for free to anyone who has a son or daughter serving active duty in the military. I ordered one about 3 or 4 weeks ago and it came today. It is now hanging proudly in my living room window on the front of my home. Here is the link:

Laura...different divisions, different rules and I think 2ndmom's recruit is special ops and they are way stricter...
