Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

And of course to write her--so the first two letters I already sent she hasn't received--so maybe she'll get them this week!

Comment by Lynne on September 23, 2010 at 2:50pm: I had that melt down on Tuesday night when I decided that I hadn't sent letters soon enough and everyone else was getting tons of mail and my poor son was getting none and he was wondering why I wasn't writing....yep that is what we do best worry...

Comment by G Man Div 951 Ship 2 PIR 11/5 on September 23, 2010 at 2:50pm: Div 951 Wrote letters and mailed them on Sunday 19sep10 so look for the postman :-) I am. Had to run some errands, Sam's club for dog food for my four German Shepherds. But Im hurrying and hoping.
