FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO GET STARTED:

Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Thanks, Wolf Grrl! Airlines: If you can, take Southwest. You can change dates with no penalty. We just made reservations to visit my father-in-law in November then decided we needed to go in October. We made the date changes and paid 60 cents (some stupid difference in fare between the 2 days!). Southwest rocks! They don't charge for 1 suitcase either.

Hotel: We picked the Red Carpet Inn because it was cheap. We figure it will be clean (we hope!). And they have free shuttle!

I've put in a few notes to families with recruits in performance divisions in other PIR groups...to see what their experiences were about mail. So, let's wait and see.

Trying to get farm work done, mending fences and tarping wood prior to first snows. But keeping eye in mail box:-) middle son still under water for few months so doesn't even know little bros ship date moved up. I need that letter...

I am going to go check on some stuff for you all in the performance divisions so if you will hang tight for five minutes or so I will try to get you an answer of sorts
